The Original Myst game was released in 1993 and was one fo the first cd-rom games. The game was later ported to just about every cd based platform after that and this video shows the playstation port released in 1996 by Psygnosis and SunSoft.
I have previously recorded the Amiga version of the game which is a good port of the pc version with a few minor bugs and features disabled. The playstation version has taken me longer to complete and made the overall video longer as it is a really slow moving game. I suspect if I had disabled the image transitions it would have been notably faster. The game runs in hires interlaced mode but does not made good use of the resolution. The images have all been re-scaled and are of noticeably lesser quality with plenty of macro blocking even on still images. The game does however play exactly the same as all other versions. The game does support the mouse, but Joypad emulation has had to be used here and its just not the same moving the pointer around with the dpad.
The video shows a full walk through of the game. I tried to show all the clues that leads to solving the puzzles as best I could. When showing the books I click through them fairly quickly so you may want to pause the video if you want to read those pages. At the end of the video after the very short credits, I show the 3 bad endings to the game.
